Foster tax payments due July 31
01:00 AM EDT on Tuesday, July 8, 2008
FOSTER — Tax Collector Pamela J. Fontaine has announced that the town’s 2008 real estate, motor vehicle and personal property tax bills have been mailed. First-quarter taxes are due July 31. Penalties will be charged as of Aug. 1.
If you owned or purchased real estate or had your vehicle registered in the town in 2007 and have not received a bill, contact the assessor’s office at (401) 392-9202. Failure to receive a tax bill does not excuse the nonpayment of the tax. If taxes are escrowed it is the taxpayer’s responsibility to forward the real estate tax bill or a copy to the bank/mortgage company.
Taxpayers are now able to check balances and pay online at www.RIeGovernment.com. Pin numbers are located on the top right of tax bill/statement.
Town Hall hours are Monday through Friday. 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
