EAST PROVIDENCE — An East Providence man died of “multiple blunt injuries of torso and extremities” when his motorcycle crashed Friday on Route 146A in North Smithfield, the state medical examiner’s office said Monday.
Carlos Lemos, 40, of 142 Central Ave., was northbound on the highway at about 5:45 a.m. when his motorcycle veered off the road and struck the guardrail, the police said. Lemos, who was thrown from the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene. It was not known if he had been wearing a helmet.
Lemos is the seventh person to die in a motorcycle crash in Rhode Island this year.
