WHAT GOES AROUND ... : School wins recycling award

Emma Costa, left, 10, and Natalino Arraial, 9, both in the fifth grade at Emma G. Whiteknact Elementary School, in East Providence, assemble a compost bin to be used in their scientific courtyard project. The school earned a state recycling award for transforming a vacant courtyard into a hands-on scientific lab with a weather station, a composting heap and plantings of veggies and flowers.
