E. Greenwich principal heads to Scituate

EAST GREENWICH — Michael Zajac, principal of Archie R. Cole Middle School for nearly two years, is leaving to assume the principalship of Scituate Middle School.
The School Committee is scheduled to consider a replacement for Zajac at its June 16 meeting, where it will also accept Zajac’s resignation.
Supt. Charles Meyers, who also is leaving the system this summer, said he will recommend Cole’s assistant principal, Alexis Meyer, as Zajac’s replacement. She formerly taught at the school.
“That’s an outstanding recommendation,” said School Committee Chairwoman Jean Ann Guliano.
Zajac’s departure comes as Cole is about to be torn down and replaced.
