Home for the Holidays
The Paine House Museum, 7 Station St. is participating in the Home for the Holidays event Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. sponsored by Preserve Rhode Island. The museum has been decorated for the holidays and admission on this date will be a nonperishable food item for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.

Coventry people
The New England Wild Flower Society has awarded Peter Lockwood, of Coventry, its Rhode Island State Award for Conserving Native Plants and Their Habitats. Lockwood has discovered new rare and endangered species, conducted plant surveys, restored habitats, catalogued herbarium specimens, recorded data, and monitored sites of conservation concern.

Navy Airman Recruit Brian P. Moran, son of Kathleen and William Moran of Coventry, recently completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Moran is a 2007 graduate of Coventry High School.
