Birding weekend planned: Next Monday is the deadline to register for the Audubon Society of Rhode Island’s annual birding weekend on Block Island.
Special programs on salt marsh bird and wildlflower identification, banding demonstrations and more will run from Oct. 3 through 5. Fees are $420 for members, $450 for others, and include ferry, hotel accommodation and meals.

Audubon cruises: The Audubon Society is sponsoring a series of “culinary adventures,” two-hour cruises aboard the Sea Princess, each featuring foods from a different region, leaving from Wickford Town Dock. The schedule includes “A Taste of Tuscany” on Sept. 6.
Fees are $42 for Audubon members, $49 for others; participants must be 21 or older.

Bird walks: Phil Budlong leads free 8 a.m. bird walks each Tuesday morning, through December, meeting at the Charlestown Mini-Super, on Route 1A in Charlestown.
