Fireworks: Misquamicut Beach will host a send-off to summer with a Labor Day fireworks display, Sunday night at 8:30 at the New Westerly Town Beach (Wuskenau). Admission is free.

Fire company breakfast: The Snug Harbor Volunteer Fire Company will host a breakfast Sunday morning from 7 to 11 at fire station 5, off of Succotash Road in the Snug Harbor section of South Kingstown. Admission is $6, $3 for children, free to those under 6. For information, call 789-0409.

Tourism council dinner: The South County Tourism Council will host its annual dinner Sept. 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Towers, 35 Ocean Rd., Narragansett. Tickets are $30, and may be reserved by calling 789-4422.

Recreation department trips: The South Kingstown Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring the following trips:

New York City, Sept. 13; and Asheville, N.C. and Biltmore Estate, Sept. 21 through 26.

Farmers’ markets: The Coastal Growers’ Market is open for the season, selling local produce, meat, flowers, bread, seafood, cheese and more, and hosting yoga classes, alpaca visits, cooking and craft demonstrations, every Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Casey Farm, 2325 Boston Neck Rd., Saunderstown.

The Coastal Growers’ Market also operates a farmers’ market Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to noon on the lawn of the Richmond Town Hall, 5 Richmond Town House Rd., Richmond, through October. It features certified organic produce from Cedar Edge Farm and One Love Farm, and meats from the Stoney Hill Cattle Company. Other farmers and local growers interested in joining the market may receive an application by e-mailing Brent Petersen, at onelovefarm@hotmail.com.

URI hosts a farmers’ market each Saturday morning from 8:30 to noon, in the Keaney Gym parking lot, off of Route 138 in Kingston.

And a farmers’ market in sponsored by the South County Conservancy is open Friday morning from 9 to noon, through Sept. 12, at the Cross’ Mills Public Library, 4417 Old Post Rd., Charlestown. Featured are locally grown produce and flowers, shellfish, beef, pork and eggs.
