Reward is offered for information

CHARLESTOWN –– RxPATROL-Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in a recent pharmacy burglary.
Early on Wedneday of last week, the police said, two people broke into Ocean Pharmacy, 3986 Old Post Rd., and stole an undetermined amount of Oxycontin, an opiate-derived controlled substance. The pharmacy’s alarm company notified police of the break-in at 12:15 a.m..
The reward is being posted by pharmaceutical company Purdue Pharma L.P., which operates RxPATROL, a collaborative effort among industry, pharmacists and law enforcement to collect and disseminate information on pharmacy theft.
“It’s important for people to know that all information that we receive is kept completely confidential,” Chuck Kreimer, the program’s coordinator, said in a statement. “Callers never have to give their names or appear in court. The Crime Stoppers tip line does not use any tape recording or caller ID devices.”
