CENTRAL FALLS — The police are searching for a man they say stabbed a brother and sister during a domestic dispute early Sunday morning.
Kevin D. Stanford, 24, is being sought on a warrant charging him with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, Police Chief Joseph P. Moran III said.
Stanford, whose last known address was 20 Forsyth St., Providence, is alleged to have stabbed Sheila Lopes, 24, and her brother, Alex Lopes, 28, with a pocketknife.
Sheila Lopes has a child by Stanford, Moran said.
Both of the stabbing victims were treated at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket and then discharged, according to Louise C. Paiva, hospital spokeswoman.
The stabbing came to light when the police were called to the Lopes’ residence at 42 Washington St. in response to a report of a disturbance there at 4:35 a.m., Moran said.
Sheila Lopes, who was stabbed in the leg, was taken to the hospital by ambulance, Moran said. Alex Lopes, who was stabbed in the chest, either drove himself to the hospital or was taken there by someone, he said.
