Bicentennial banquet: The Burrillville Bicentennial Banquet will be Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. at Wright’s Farm Restaurant in Nasonville. Tickets are $15 at Town Hall, Brigido’s IGA in Pascoag, Harrisville Fire District Office, Burrillville Parks and Recreation, Glendale Oil Service, and Lawrence Brothers in Harrisville.
Folk band: A coffeehouse will be held Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. featuring Irish folk band Fishing with Finnegan at Beckwith-Bruckshaw Lodge, 50 Lodge Rd. Admission is $5, $3 for seniors and children under 12. For information, call (401) 567-0232.
Holiday bazaar: The Burrillville Historical & Preservation Society will hold a holiday bazaar Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bridgeton School, 16 Laurel Hill Ave. To donate items, call Betty Mencucci, (401) 568-8449.
Art classes: Registration is being held for art classes at the Burrillville Recreation Center, Lodge Road. “Young Artists Workshops” and “Creative Drawing and Painting” will be held Saturday. Students age 4 to 7 will meet 11 a.m. to noon. Classes for age 8 and up will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The cost is $9 and $12 and includes all materials. To register, call (401) 568-0748.
Pascoag Public Library, 57 Church St., will hold a “Bag of Books” clearance sale tomorrow through Friday from 10 a.m. to noon and 3 to 6 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Storytime “Mother Goose on the Loose” will be held Thursday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. for children age 2 to 4.

Jesse M. Smith Memorial Library, 144 Main St., will host a “Read In”Saturday. to celebrate Children’s Book Week. Between 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. children are invited to read a book, with or without a partner, for at least 15 minutes. No signup is necessary.
Laura Sidla, of Pascoag, is a recipient of the 2006 Robert H.I. Goddard Scholarship award from the Association of Fundraising Professions RI Chapter.
