Pascoag Victorian Holiday: The fourth annual Victorian Holiday will be held in downtown Pascoag, Saturday from 3:30 to 7 p.m. A tree lighting ceremony will be held at 4:15 p.m. at Veterans’ Park and Santa Claus arrives at 4:30 p.m. Activities include a gingerbread house contest at Overlook Nursing Home; free hayrides through downtown Pascoag; Christmas tree sales by Cub Scout Pack 1; free guided tours of the historic Bridgeton School; a free shuttle; Victorian strollers; crafters, and face painting.

Open House: The Humane Association of Northwestern Rhode Island invites the public to visit Ivy’s Place, 9 Church St., Echo Plaza, Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. to see the new shelter, pet supply store, and humane education center. The event will include a penny social and refreshments.

Santa on the Town Common: The annual Santa on the Town Common festival will be held Dec. 2 at the Gazebo on the Town Common in Harrisville. The festivities begin with Santa arriving by fire truck at 1:30 p.m. Children are welcome to visit with Santa. A small token gift will be given to each child provided by Burrillville Parks and Recreation, along with complimentary hot chocolate and cookies.

Santa calling: The Burrillville Parks and Recreation Department is holding its “Santa Calling Program” Dec. 14 to 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. for children up to grade 2. Registration is required by Dec. 8. For more information, call (401) 568-9470.

Religion

Calvary Church, 158 Broad St., will host a worship service with Santa Claus, Dec. 3 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Santa will tell the story of how he went from being called Saint Nicholas to being Santa Claus. Santa will also be available for photos; bring your camera. For more information, call (401) 568-3888.

Berean Baptist Church, 474 Chapel St., will host the Carillon Women’s Chorus’ annual Holiday Concert on Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. The concert is free of charge. The chorus will perform both popular and classical Christmas music. A reception with coffee and refreshments will follow.
