Bristol: Veterans Home Café Opens
01:00 AM EST on Tuesday, January 13, 2009
BRISTOL: The Rhode Island Division of Veterans Affairs and the Office of Rehabilitation Services will host a ceremonial ribbon cutting to showcase the newest Coffee Plus enterprise at the Rhode Island Veterans Home Jan. 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the home, 480 Metacom Ave.
The Veterans Home Coffee Plus Café and Gift Shop is a strategic business partnership that benefits both the veterans who live at the Home as well as the legally-blind small business operators who will run the enterprise.
The Office of Rehabilitation Services’ Business Enterprises establishes food service entrepreneurial opportunities for individuals who are legally blind under the federal Randolph-Sheppard Act which gives preference to blind individuals to operate facilities on public property.
