Annual dinner dance: The Newport County Chamber of Commerce will hold its 13th annual dinner dance and silent auction Nov. 17 at the Hyatt Regency, Goat Island. Music will span the decade, from rock & roll to disco, with live music by the Lois Vaughan Band and a DJ, provided by Jack Falvey Associates, in between sets. Seventies attire is optional. Tickets are $65, or $600 for a table of 10.
The Chamber is now soliciting silent auction items. Last year, over 200 items were donated, including everything from gift certificates and jewelry to airline tickets, weekend getaways and art. Donors’ names are printed in the program and displayed on auction tables, so it is a great way to promote your business.
