Barrington
Pumpkin season
01:00 AM EDT on Thursday, October 9, 2008

Giza Velez, 10 months old, who was vacationing in Rhode Island with her parents, sits in the pumpkin patch at St. John’s Episcopal Church, in the center of Barrington. Her father, Hector, moved to Puerto Rico 20 years ago and returned to the area for a visit with his family. The second annual pumpkin sale goes on daily at the church through Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Proceeds from the sale will benefit many outreach programs of the church, including the local food bank.
