As part of the 300th anniversary of St. Paul’s Church in North Kingstown, there will be a ceremony tomorrow commemorating the signing in 1707 of the deed for the Platform on Shermantown Road. After the 9 a.m. service, a bus will leave the church at approximately 10:15 for a trip to the Platform for a brief ceremony. On the return trip, the plan is to leave the bus at Wilson Park and walk with a banner, a model of the old church, and musicians back to the current location on Church Lane, thereby also commemorating the 1800 move to Wickford.
The Hospitality Committee is planning a picnic lunch. To sign up for the bus and/or lunch, please call the parish office at (401) 294-4357.

More than 30 college students, mostly from Brown University, are riding their bicycles across the country this summer — one group from Providence to Seattle, the other from Providence to San Francisco.
The organization is called Bike & Build Inc., and the riders who raised funds to pay for the trip and sponsor a Bike & Build House in Providence, will volunteer at Habitat for Humanity construction sites along the way.
The trips began June 10 and June 14 from the Brown Boathouse in India Point Park. Both trips will end during the first weeks of August.
