Tomorrow is Trinity Sunday on the calendar for Protestants and Catholics. It celebrates the doctrine that in the one God there are three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
For Buddhists, Monday is Buddha or Vesakha Puja Day. Coming on the first full moon day in May, it is the most important festival in Buddhism, celebrating the birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha.
On Thursday, Anglicans will celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi. The feast, which is Latin for “Body of Christ,” expresses faith in the real presence of Christ in the elements of the Eucharist. It is traditionally a time of popular Eucharistic devotion.
On Friday, members of the Baha’i faith will observe the anniversary of the Declaration of the Bab. For Jews, it is Lag B’Omer, the 33rd day in the counting period between Pesach and Shavout.
