INDIANS 4, RED SOX 2: Ortiz ‘fine’ after taking grounder off leg
01:00 AM EDT on Tuesday, October 16, 2007
CLEVELAND — David Ortiz, who was struck in the upper right thigh by a batted ball from Ramirez in the fourth inning – and thus, ruled out. He finished the game without incident, though he was sore afterward.
“No, he’s fine,” said Terry Francona.
“I almost got hit (in the groin),” chuckled Ortiz, “and if it did, I would have rolling around on the ground, grabbing myself.”
