Bisons 4, PawSox 2: Pawtucket falls as Snyder goes to DL

•THE HIGHLIGHTS: Buffalo’s Bronson Sardinha chopped an infield single in the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie and gave the Bisons a draw in the four-game series. Pawtucket failed in its bid for a third straight win.

Danny Sandoval added a solo homer in the eighth inning to add insurance.

The PawSox scored both of their runs in the second-inning, on an RBI triple by Sean Danielson and a run-scoring single by Chad Spann.

•MOVEMENT: Pitcher Kyle Snyder, who came out of his start on Wednesday after three innings, was placed on the seven-day disabled list with a strained groin. The PawSox did not have a replacement in uniform for last night’s game, and do not expect to see one soon. “We’re not getting anybody,” said Pawtucket manager Ron Johnson. “It’ll be a short-lived DL.”

•PROSPECT WATCH: Lef-thanded reliever Hunter Jones made his Triple-A debut, taking over for starter Charlie Zink in the sixth inning. Jones, a 24-year-old who was promoted from Double-A Portland on Thursday, set down his first two batters before yielding three straight hits, including Sardinha’s decisive chopper.

•THEY SAID IT: “Some things go your way and some things don’t,” said Jones. “I felt I made some good pitches, and a couple of calls didn’t go my way. But I’ll keep throwing strikes and challenging hitters.”

•GET BACK ON THE BUS: The PawSox continue their road trip with a four-game set in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In tonight’s first game, scheduled for 7 o’clock, right-hander Devern Hansack (1-4, 6.56) will take on Yankees righty Steve White (4-1, 2.66).
