Report: Red Sox finalize deal with Wilkerson

BOSTON — Outfielder and first baseman Brad Wilkerson has agreed to terms with the Boston Red Sox on a minor-league deal that could pay him up to $2.5 million if he’s added to the major league roster.
Wilkerson would get a one-year contract for the major-league minimum of $400,000. He could earn $1.1 million more in roster bonuses and $1 million in performance bonuses, said a person with knowledge of the negotiations who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the deal was not yet official.
Wilkerson, 31, batted .220 in 104 games with the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays last year. His best season was 2004, when Wilkerson batted .255 with 32 homers with 67 RBIs for the Montreal Expos.
