BOSTON -- Through the first two games of the series, the Angels certainly couldn't ask for more from the middle of their order. The question they had was, would the rest of ther lineup ever show up?

On Monday night, it did.

The biggest gun was catcher Mike Napoli, a three-year veteran who was 0-for-4 in Game One, who ripped two home runs off Josh Beckett. (Napoli owns a bit of pop in his bat. He has 46 home runs in his three major league seasons, including a career-high of 20 this season when he hit .273.) And the bottom of the order came through with the game on the line and, once again, Napoli came up huge. His biggest hit came in the 12th inning, when he grounded a leadoff single to left off Javier Lopez. After a sacrifice bunt by Howie Kendrick, Erick Aybar (who was 0-of-13 in the series) grounded a single up the middle that allowed Napoli to score the winning run in the 5-4 marathon.

"It feels great,'' said Napoli. "We got some big hits tonight and we came away with a victory. We're going to come out tomorrow and lay it on the line and keep going.''

Mark Teixeira (5-for-7 prior to Sunday night), Vladimir Guerrero (5-for-8) and Torii Hunter (4-for-8) combined to carry the Angels' offense in the first two games. They accounted for 14 of the Angels' 20 hits and four of the team's six RBI. They kept it up in Game Three, too, with two hits apiece. Teixeira is now hitting .538 for the series, Guerrero .583 and Hunter .429.
