Boston Red Sox
Pesky tribute may be moved to Sunday
08:04 AM EDT on Friday, September 26, 2008
BOSTON -- The Red Sox are scheduled to open a season-ending three-game series against the Yankees tonight, but there is a 100-percent chance of heavy rain for most of the day in Boston. If the game is postponed, the Sox have said that they’ll push the scheduled retirement of Johnny Pesky’s No. 6 to Sunday.
Also, the Sox are likely to play a doubleheader on Sunday instead of tomorrow if tonight’s game is rained out.
Tomorrow’s game is scheduled to start at 3:55 because of national (FOX) TV.
