Boston Red Sox
Kotsay fired up about returning to playoffs
08:26 AM EDT on Thursday, September 25, 2008
BOSTON -- One Red Sox who can’t wait for the playoffs to start is Mark Kotsay. The veteran played in the postseason in 2006 with Oakland and came away impressed with the atmosphere at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. He expects more of the same, if not at the same decibel level, at Fenway Park.
“Boston is a different place to play baseball and you don’t realize that until you wear the uniform,” Kotsay said. “You come in here and feel the electricity in the stadium, but as a home player you feel it even more. Minnesota was electric in the Dome. You could hardly hear yourself think, but I’m sure the same atmosphere will be created here.”
