Red Sox may be getting healthy at the right time
07:57 AM EDT on Thursday, September 4, 2008
BOSTON -- The Red Sox are beginning to get healthy just in time for the stretch run.
When the club travels tomorrow to Texas, Josh Beckett (elbow) will be the starting pitcher, Mike Lowell (oblique, hip flexor) could be the starting third baseman, and Sean Casey (neck) will be ready to play, too. Outfielder J.D. Drew (herniated disk) is still not ready to play.
Casey has been able to hit and take ground balls and should be available to play tomorrow. Both Lowell and manager Terry Francona agree the veteran third baseman will be back in the lineup tomorrow, too.
