Sox schedule checkup for injured Drew
07:43 AM EDT on Friday, August 29, 2008
NEW YORK -- Red Sox outfielder J.D. Drew returned to Boston yesterday and will be examined today. There’s also a chance, according to manager Terry Francona, the injured right fielder could receive an epidural shot. Drew was placed on the disabled list (retroactive to Aug. 18) with a herniated disk. He had a MRI taken in Toronto last week and met with a spine specialist in New York on Tuesday.
