Buchholz to start for Portland on Monday

TORONTO -- Pitching prospect Clay Buchholz, who was optioned to Double-A Portland after his last Red Sox start in Baltimore on Wednesday, is slated to pitch Monday for the Sea Dogs against New Britain at Portland.
After he was assigned to the minors, Francona said there have been a million discussions about the development of Buchholz and how to proceed. Buchholz was 2-9 with a 6.75 ERA for the Sox this season.
