TORONTO -- Reliever Chris Smith was was called up from Pawtucket prior to last night’s game. This is his fourth stint with the Red Sox this season.
The right-hander is 1-0 with a 2.16 ERA in five relief appearances with Boston. Off the field he spends his time taking pictures and videos of the ballparks and other notable landmarks in the major-league cities he’s visited.
He puts the videos and pictures on a disc and sends them to his family in California so they can enjoy them.
“I hope to stick around long enough to do it at Yankee Stadium,” he said. “I want to take pictures of it before it blows up.”
He takes pictures from the mound to give the pitcher’s perspective and from home plate, too. He spent about an hour at Rogers Centre yesterday taking photographs.
