Manny on jaywalking incident -- 'It's none of your business'
07:24 AM EDT on Wednesday, July 23, 2008
BOSTON -- In a bizarre story, Manny Ramirez was nearly cited for jaywalking here late Monday night.
Police often crackdown on jaywalkers and Ramirez was caught in the sweep Monday night. When he produced an ID, the officer let him go with a warning. He could have been subject to a fine of several hundred dollars.
“Don’t worry about it,” said a laughing Ramirez when approached for comment yesterday. “It’s none of your business.”
Manager Terry Francona said that he been warned “several times” over the year about crossing the street without the right of way.
“If you don’t walk in Boston, they’ll yell at you,” cracked Francona.
