Sox hope Ramirez can return to left field by Friday
08:33 AM EDT on Monday, June 9, 2008
BOSTON -- Manny Ramirez (right knee/hamstring) still isn’t healthy enough to play left field, but manager Terry Francona is hoping he’ll be able to play in the field by Friday, when the Sox play at Cincinnati in interleague play, where the designated hitter is not used. Boston will play three in Cincinnati and then three in Philadelphia. Ramirez extended his hitting streak to 13 games on Sunday.
