Sox hope Matsuzaka can back to throwing this weekend
07:37 AM EDT on Wednesday, June 4, 2008
BOSTON -- Pitching coach John Farrell said the team hopes that Daisuke Matsuzaka, who is on the disabled list with inflammation of the rotator cuff, can begin a throwing program this weekend.
“This weekend is our target date,” said Farrell. “It’s just the early stage. He would play catch from 60-to90 feet, then progress to long tossing before he gets up on the mound again.”
