Beef with ump mars otherwise great night for Youkilis

DETROIT -- Kevin Youkilis wouldn’t mind playing all his games at Comerica Park.

Youkilis crushed a pair of homers last night, giving him three in the series and seven in his career at Comerica Park, the most by far in any road ballpark. He has no more than two homers in any other park.
The Sox first baseman very nearly got tossed out of last night’s game. He wasn’t happy with a strike call during his seventh-inning strikeout and had to be separated from plate umpire Jim Reynolds by Francona. When he went to his defensive position there appeared to have been some words between Youkilis and Reynolds, with the umpire moving out from behind his spot and gesturing at Youkilis. He did not toss Youkilis, however.
Youkilis had an interesting game. He hit two homers and whiffed in his other three at-bats, only the third member of the Sox to have that type of offensive “full house.” Brian Daubach and Jim Rice also accomplished the dubious feat.
