Francona pleased that Kielty accepted PawSox spot

OAKLAND -- Red Sox manager Terry Francona was among many who were glad that outfielder Bobby Kielty elected to remain with the organization Monday night.
He’ll be in Pawtucket in time for tomorrow’s opener.
Kielty came to camp on a minor-league deal that included an out-clause if another major-league opportunity arose. Kielty was contacted by a team over the weekend, but elected to stay with the Sox.
“He just needs a spot on the club that fits,” said Francona. “We didn’t need to give him a speech, just a conversation about what’s going on. He needed to explore some things — I understand that.”
