Crisp still isn't at full speed

VERO BEACH, Fla. - Red Sox manager Terry Francona yesterday explained speedy center fielder Coco Crisp ran sprints on Saturday and that his side-to-side movement was good, but Crisp still had trouble with running “straight forward.”

“The burst forward is still not in a position where we want him to try to do something in a game,” said the manager. “He’s just not ready.”
Red Sox shortstop Julio Lugo (lower back) will visit with team physician Thomas Gill this morning. Gill arrived in Florida yesterday.
