Henry says Schilling has no reason to be upset
08:15 AM EST on Tuesday, February 19, 2008
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Red Sox principal owner John Henry was asked Monday about the rift between the organization and Curt Schilling over the course of action to take with Schilling’s shoulder and biceps injuries.
“He shouldn’t be upset,” said Henry. “We’re trying to so what is in the best interest of Curt and the team.”
Henry added that he was “very optimistic” that a contract extension could get done this spring with Francona, whose current deal expires after this season.
“I don’t know when it will happen,” he said. “But I’m optimistic it will.”
