July 23 - Jon Lester Returns
07:20 AM EDT on Tuesday, October 2, 2007
Jon Lester, whose 2006 season was cut short when he was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma in late August, is back in the big leagues.
After enduring cancer treatments in the offseason, Lester is summoned from Pawtucket for a start in Cleveland, an emotional night for Lester, his parents and everyone in the Red Sox' organization.
The left-hander conquers pregame jitters and pitches six strong innings for a 6-2 victory over the Indians.
