July 20 - Another Major Drought
07:19 AM EDT on Tuesday, October 2, 2007
David Ortiz is strong enough to hit home runs out of Yellowstone.
So what's the deal at Fenway? The powerful left-handed-hitting designated hitter clubbed a homer at home against the Yankees on April 21. And, amazingly, that's his final homer at Fenway for the first half.
Finally, he connects at home again, taking Toronto's Dustin McGowan deep to right for a solo shot in the first ending, ending his Fenway home-run drought at 129 at-bats spread over 39 games.
