Boston Red Sox
Aug. 12 - Guess The Deal Didn't Do It, Part II
07:23 AM EDT on Tuesday, October 2, 2007
Again Gagne is called on for the eighth inning in Baltimore.
This time there's a runner at first with one out and the Sox ahead, 3-1.
Gagne keeps pumping in fastballs to Miguel Tejada. Finally, on the seventh pitch of the at-bat, Tejada launches a game-tying two-run homer to left, pinning a blown save on Gagne. The Red Sox lose, 6-3, when Kyle Snyder is tagged for a three-run shot by ex-Soxer Kevin Millar in the 10th.
