Sox going early on Patriots Day
08:56 AM EST on Thursday, January 25, 2007
The Red Sox’ annual Patriots Day game, normally scheduled for 11:05 a.m., will begin an hour earlier this year. The start of the Boston Marathon has been changed from noon to 10 a.m., so to avoid congestion in the Kenmore Square area the Sox will start their game, played this year on Monday, April 16 against the Angels, at 10:05 a.m. Unlike years past, however, the race leaders probably will have passed Kenmore Square when the baseball crowd gets out. The Sox will also start their Sunday, April 15 game an hour earlier, at 1:05 p.m. instead of 2:05.
