Calling all singers: You could be on your way to Fenway Park.

The Mohegan Sun Casino, in Uncasville, Conn., and K4 Public Relations and Production have announced the NEXT New England Competition, with the grand-prize package including a chance to sing the national anthem at a Red Sox game.

The first round of auditions begins Saturday in the Cabaret Theatre at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn., from noon to 3 p.m. All ages are welcome; those under 18 have to be with a parent or guardian. The auditions consist of 30 seconds of unaccompanied singing.

Twenty singers will be chosen from all the open auditions (there are others scheduled for the first full week of April in Boston). The semifinals will be held at Axis, in Boston, on Wednesday, April 20, and the finals at Axis on Wednesday, April 27.

In addition to singing the national anthem at the Red Sox-Cincinnati Reds game June 14 at Fenway Park, the winner will get an overnight stay at Mohegan Sun; CDs from Virgin Megastore; dinner at the Rustic Kitchen, in Boston; and a chance to sing at this year's NEMO conference.
