How to enter an event or venue in Projothebeat.com

Adding an event to projothebeat.com is simple. Just sign up for an account (link to register | log in, located in the upper right corner), then go to the 'Add Events' page to add your event. Be sure to include all of the information requested on the form or your event may not be listed.

Fill out name of the event, category, and subcategory. Make sure that Age Suitability appears as ALL AGES unless otherwise specified. Ignore Content Rating -- it's just for movies. Provide a Web address for the event. Fill in Phone number, including area code -- this information is for the Event, not for the Venue. Fill in Summary -- this allows a synopsis of 175 characters. You can add "More Event Details" if you go beyond 175 characters. Fill in Keywords field. (City or town is mandatory, state is manadatory, category, subcategory, etc.)

On the next page, Date and Time are required fields. End Time, Opening Night and Ticket Price fields are optional. (Projothebeat will use this information if we can get it.) If an event is recurring, check the box and add repeat pattern -- which can be a daily or weekly pattern. Also, you can use One-by-One if an event does not have a recurring pattern.

On the next page, fill in the Venue name and search to see if it exists in the data base. If a venue is not available, click on Create a New Venue and fill in the venue name, street address, address 2, zip code, city and state, country and time zone, venue type, ALL AGES, accessibility factors, hours of operation, Web page for venue and phone number for venue. Also add tags.

On the next page, click on "save and continue."

Uploading a photo to Projothebeat.com

First, we recommend saving the photo you want to use to your own desktop for easy access. Make sure you are logged in to Projothebeat.

Click on the Restaurant, Venue, Performer or Event tab. Search for a restaurant, event, venue or performer. When you see your choice, click on the Image icon beneath the photo box. Click the Browse button. You will see a File Upload pop-up box. Make sure the "Look In" field at the top of the screen says "Desktop." Click on the image you want. (If you don't see the image right away, use the blue scrollbar.) Fill in the Credit line and caption field, click Upload.
