CUSTOMER SERVICE CLASSES: Registrations are now being accepted for classes in retail customer service that will lead to national certification at the Providence Skills Center at Providence Place Mall.
The free classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning on Tuesday, and will run five days a week for a total of 120 hours.
Students will receive hands-on and computer-based training in all areas of salesmanship, customer service and telephone techniques and will be eligible for the industry-respected National Retail Federation certification at the conclusion of the program.
Classes are free and students will be provided additional support in resume writing, interviewing and job search skills. The Providence Skills Center offers this program year-round, along with literacy, GED placement, pharmacy tech and other customer service programs, skills assessment and job placement.
CVS/PHARMACY TECH TRAINING: Registrations are now being accepted for an orientation program on the free, highly popular CVS/Pharmacy Technology program offered at the Providence Skills Center at the Providence Place Mall.
Orientation will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at NetWORKri at One Reservoir Avenue, Providence. Advance registration is required. To register, call Sue Almeida at (401) 861-0800.
Interested applicants must pass proficiency tests (9th grade math and reading) and a background check before acceptance into the 12-week program. Classes will begin Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Providence Skills Center and continue for 12 hours per week in classroom and mock-pharmacy settings. Students will also be required to complete an additional unpaid internship with CVS at the end of the program.
All classes are free and students will be provided additional support in resume writing, interviewing and job search skills.
