ATP Manufacturing, a subsidiary of Newgrange Group LLC, in North Smithfield, has been adversely affected by increased foreign competition and imports and as a result former workers are eligible for trade adjustment assistance as of May 16, federal labor officials announced.
ATP Manufacturing workers who lost work on or after May 5 may be eligible for vocational and remedial training, job search allowances, relocation allowances, health coverage tax credits, reemployment services, and alternative trade adjustment assistance.
To be eligible for trade readjustment allowances, former workers must be enrolled in training no later than eight weeks after the certification date of May 16 or no later than 16 weeks after their last day of work.
