Students in the School of Law at Roger Williams University who have completed two years of their legal education may compete for summer internships at a major law firm in Lisbon, Portugal. The new internship at the 60-year-old firm is the first of several internships the school hopes to establish with prominent Lisbon law firms, according to Prof. David A. Rice, director of the law school’s Portuguese-American Comparative Law Center.
Students will be selected on the basis of their academic record, their interest in international law practice and other factors. A commitment to learning basic Portuguese language skills is required. Successful applicants will receive stipends for transportation and an additional amount for lodging and other expenses for living in Lisbon.
