NEW STAFF: Bill O’Hanley, of Middletown, has joined Residential Properties Ltd.’s Newport location at One Bowen’s Wharf. O’Hanley is an expert in all phases of home restoration, energy efficiency, ventilation and moisture mitigation.
NEW AGENT: Margaret Farley, of East Providence, has joined RE/MA River’s Edge, Barrington, as a sales associate. She brings with her 19 years of experience in real estate sales.
SPECIALIST DESIGNATION: Dolores Splaine, of ReMax Professionals, 655 East Main St., East Greenwich, has been awarded the Seniors Real Estate 55 and older designation. As a real estate consultant, she will help seniors make decisions about selling or keeping a home, and with her team of professionals she will help counsel clients on tax issues, financial and estate planning, reverse mortgages and probate and elder law. She has been a Realtor for over 21 years.
AWARDS GALA: Each year, the 50-plus New England Housing Council recognizes 27 award-winning regional projects. Finalists have been selected from among the region’s premier designers, developers and agencies. Winners will be announced and displays of their projects will be on exhibit on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at The Doubletree Boston-Westboro in Westboro, Mass. The cost is $80 for members and $95 for others. AGENTS OF THE MONTH: Jean Marzilli, of Warwick, was named sales agent and Earl Matarese, of Cranston, was named listing agent for the month of September at Bruce Allen Realtors, Cranston.
REALTOR OF THE YEAR: The Newport County Board of Realtors has named Richard Carrubba, of Newport, as its 2008 Realtor of the Year.
Carrubba has been a Realtor with Prudential Prime Properties of Middletown for 11 years and a broker for seven of those years. A licensed appraiser for the last two years, he is the co-founder of Sterling Appraisal Services of Middletown.
He is vice chairman of the Newport Planning Board, a member of the Newport Task Force to Reduce Nuisance Noise and a member of the Citizens Commission to Reduce Property Taxes.
ONE OF A KIND SALE: Coldwell Banker Guimond Realty Group is kicking off a one-of-a-kind 10-day-sale beginning Friday, Oct. 10.
