HOUSE AUCTION ONLINE: An online reserve auction of 46 foreclosed homes in Rhode Island is under way and will conclude with a reserve auction at the Hilton Providence Hotel, 21 Atwells Ave., in Providence on Tuesday, May 18.
The auction is being conducted by Hudson & Marshall of Texas Inc., a real estate auction house that reports it has had $1.2 billion in sales in the past five years. This will not be an absolute auction, in which properties are sold on the spot to the highest bidder, but a reserve auction, in which only buyers who meet a confidential minimum price — the reserve price — will be successful.
Information about the properties for sale can be found on the auction house’s Web site, www.hudsonandmarshall.com. A list on the site shows that most of the properties, 27, are in Providence, along with 6 in Woonsocket, 3 each in Central Falls, Pawtucket and Warwick, 2 in West Warwick, and 1 each in Cranston and Charlestown.
FREE REVERSE MORTGAGE SEMINAR: The Washington Trust Company will host a luncheon and seminar on Reverse Mortgages at noon on Thursday, May 15, at Arturo Joe’s in Narragansett.
The seminar will explore reverse mortgages, which allow elderly homeowners to tap into the built-up equity in their homes. Speakers will include Cara Conaty, an attorney; Jenney Durante, community relations, Home Instead Senior Care; and Brenda Archambault, reverse mortgage specialist, Washington Trust.
The luncheon and seminar are free and open to the public. To make reservations, call Brenda Archambault at (800) 475-2265, ext. 1220.
DIAMOND AWARDS: On The Move Team at RE/MAX Town & County was recently honored at the Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln with the four Diamond Awards for Professional Sales. Aster Mould, Michael Lambrese and Debra Hackett, Realtors with the On the Move Team, were recognized for their performance in reaching one of the highest plateaus in professional sales for the year — $10 million to nearly $15 million.
On the Move Team at RE/MAX Town & Country, 2081 Diamond Hill Rd., in Cumberland, practices in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and specializes in residential, commercial, land, and investment properties.
