Interstate Highways
Overnight restriction
Providence: Old Route 195 (eastbound and westbound) between Route 95 southbound and Exit 3 (Gano Street), left lane closed Monday — Thursday nights, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for construction.
Richmond — West Warwick: Route 95 northbound and southbound, between Exits 3 (Route 138) and 8 (Route 2), state police will slow interstate traffic, and on-ramps will temporarily close early Wednesday morning, between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., allowing National Grid crews to relocate four power lines that pass over Route 95.
Continuing restriction
Pawtucket: Route 95 between Exits 27 (George Street) and 28 (School Street) posted for use only by vehicles of less than 18 tons. Detours required for heavier vehicles.
Nearby construction
Massachusetts: Route 295 northbound and southbound between the Rhode Island state line and Route 95 is being resurfaced. Motorists should be prepared for lane closures in this area.
Metropolitan Providence
Weekend restriction
Providence: Exchange Terrace will be closed to traffic Sunday from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m., for a holiday concert.
Providence: Dorrance Street, from Washington Street to Fulton Street, lane closed Saturday, 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., for repairs to Providence City Hall.
Weekday restriction
Providence: Public Street, between Allens Avenue and Eddy Street, closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday at 7 a.m. and continuing until Wednesday night or Thursday morning, for utility work and paving. Detour in place.
Providence: Westminster Street, between Exchange Street and Dorrance Street, lane closed weekdays 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October for building construction.
Continuing restriction
East Providence: North Broadway bridges at Roger Williams Avenue (over Ten Mile River), bridges posted at 7 tons. Heavier vehicles required to use detour.
Providence: Brown Street, between Angell Street and Waterman Street, closed to through traffic May 26 to Sept. 1 for construction, according to the City of Providence.
East Bay
Weekend restriction
Bristol: Expect traffic backups and delays on all roads into and out of Bristol, even on the East Bay Bike Path, Friday morning for the annual Fourth of July Parade.
Weekday restriction
Bristol/Portsmouth: Route 114 on the Mount Hope Bridge, intermittent RITBA repair, one lane of alternating traffic.
Newport/Jamestown: Pell Newport Bridge (Route 138) eastbound and westbound between Newport and Jamestown, lane closed weekdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for RITBA deck repair.
Continuing restriction
Portsmouth-Tiverton: Sakonnet Bridge (Route 24) posted for use by vehicles under 18 tons. Heavier vehicles must use alternate routes. The bridge is safe for passenger vehicles.
West Bay
Continuing restriction
East Greenwich-North Kingstown: Frenchtown Road (Route 402) over Route 4, bridge closed for replacement, detour in place.
South County
Continuing Restriction
Exeter: Austin Farm Road over Route 95, one lane of alternating traffic for rural bridge repair.
Northern Rhode Island and Blackstone Valley
Weekday restriction
North Smithfield: Route 146 closed (northbound Sunday, southbound Sunday and Monday) at the Great Road overpass, detour in place using the School Street exit and on-ramps, 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Continuing restrictions
North Smithfield: School Street bridge over Route 146 closed to traffic, with a detour in place.
North Smithfield: Route 146 southbound under Great Road, one lane closed for bridge rehabilitation.
