Interstate Highways
Overnight restriction
Providence: Route 95 (northbound and southbound) between Exits 17 (Elmwood Avenue) and 22 (Routes 6 and 10), lanes closed Sunday-Thursday nights, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for construction.
Providence/East Providence: Route195 (eastbound and westbound) between Exits 1 (Downtown Providence) and 5 (Warren Avenue), lanes closed Sunday-Thursday nights, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for construction.
Weekday restriction
Providence/East Providence: Route 195 east, Exit 4 (Taunton Avenue) closed to traffic Tuesday, Wednesday (rain date), 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a detour in place to Exit 5 (Warren Avenue).
Continuing restriction
Pawtucket: Route 95 between Exits 27 (George Street) and 28 (School Street) posted for use only by vehicles of less than 22 tons. Detours required for heavier vehicles.
Metropolitan Providence
Weekend restrictions
Providence: Benefit Street, between Waterman Street and College Street, closed to traffic Sunday from 12 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the RISD “Spring Thing.”
Providence: River Road, between Angell Street and Irving Street, closed to traffic Saturday, 6 am to 4 pm, for the Narragansett Boat Club.
Weekday restriction
East Providence: Valley Street, between Warren Avenue and North Brow Street, closed to through traffic with detour, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Providence: Charlesfield Street, between Hope Street and Brook Street, closed to traffic Thursday between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m., for Brown University.
Continuing restriction
Providence: O’Connell Street, between Allens Avenue and Eddy Street, closed to through traffic beginning Monday morning.
Providence: Weybosset Street, between Peck Street and Delta Street, closed to traffic weekdays between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. for building construction, ending June 1.
E. Providence: North Broadway bridges at Roger Williams Avenue (over the Ten Mile River), bridges posted at 7 tons. Heavier vehicles required to use detour.
South County
Weekend restriction
North Kingstown: Route 403 east, between West Davisville Road and Post Road, right lane closed Sunday night between 7 p.m. and midnight; road section closed with detour in place for about 30 minutes between midnight and 1 a.m.
North Kingstown: US 1 (Tower Hill Road), northbound only, between Gilbert Stuart Road and Route 4, lane closed Saturday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Weekday restriction
North Kingstown: Lane closed for bridge inspection, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Monday, Tuesday – Route 1A over Route 138.
Wednesday — Route 4 over Stoney Lane.
North Kingstown/Jamestown: Route 138 east and west on the Jamestown-Verrazzano Bridge, lane closed Wednesday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for expansion-joint repair.
Hopkinton/Westerly: Lane closed for bridge inspection, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Friday — Route 3 northbound and southbound, Forrestal Drive to River Road
Friday — Route 3 over the Pawcatuck River.
Continuing Restriction
Exeter: Austin Farm Road over Route 95, one lane of alternating traffic for rural bridge repair.
East Bay
Overnight restriction
Newport: America’s Cup Avenue, near Bowen’s Wharf, southbound lane closed with detour in place, Sunday through Thursday nights, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for National Grid utility improvements.
Weekday restriction
Tiverton: Main Road (Route 138) near the on-ramp to Route 24 northbound, road construction under way, lane shifts in place, possible delays, Monday-Wednesday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Portsmouth/Tiverton: Route 24 northbound and southbound on the Sakonnet River Bridge, lane closed for bridge inspection, ramps to and from Central Avenue, Tiverton also closed, with detour, Monday and Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Continuing restriction
Portsmouth/Tiverton: Sakonnet Bridge (Route 24) posted for use by vehicles under 22 tons. Heavier vehicles must use alternate routes. The bridge is safe for passenger vehicles.
Northern RI and Blackstone Valley
Overnight restriction
North Smithfield: Route 146 northbound or southbound, at various bridge locations between Route 146A (Great Road) and the Massachusetts state line, left lane closed for guardrail installation, Sunday-Thursday nights, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Weekday restriction
North Smithfield: Route 146 northbound, at the Route 146A (Great Road) overpass, right lane closed Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., for bridge demolition.
Continuing restrictions
North Smithfield: School Street bridge over Route 146 is closed to traffic, with a detour in place.
North Smithfield: Route 146 southbound under Great Road, one lane closed for bridge rehabilitation.
West Bay
Continuing restriction
Coventry: Motorists should expect continuing lane closures and rough road conditions on Route 3, Route 117, and Sandy Bottom Road for town sewer improvements.
West Warwick: Main Street, between Providence Street and Roberts Street, remains one-way southbound day and night for the installation of decorative crosswalks until mid-May.
East Greenwich-North Kingstown: Frenchtown Road (Route 402) over Route 4, bridge closed for repairs, detour in place.
