DOT TRAFFIC REPORT

All RIDOT construction and maintenance activities are conducted as weather allows

Interstate Highways

Overnight restriction

Providence: Route 95 northbound and southbound, between Exits 18 (Thurbers Avenue) and 22 (Downtown Providence/Routes 6/10), and Route 195 westbound at the Route 95 northbound merge, lanes closed for the demolition of the Pine Street/Friendship Street bridges, Sunday to Thursday, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Weekday restriction

Providence: On-ramp from Memorial Boulevard to Route 95 southbound, ramp narrowed for bridge deck shoring, Monday and Tuesday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Providence: Route 195 westbound on-ramp from Gano Street, ramp closed Monday and Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with detour.

Continuing restriction

Pawtucket: Route 95 between Exits 27 (George Street) and 28 (School Street) posted for use only by vehicles of less than 18 tons. Detours required for heavier vehicles.

Metropolitan Providence

Weekday restriction

Providence: Weybosset Street, at the Arcade, closed to traffic Monday and Tuesday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., for building construction.

Continuing restriction

East Providence: North Broadway bridges at Roger Williams Avenue (over Ten Mile River), bridges posted at seven tons. Heavier vehicles required to use detour.

Providence/East Providence: Henderson Bridge (Red Bridge) eastbound and westbound, one lane open in each direction; eastbound exit to Massasoit Street southbound closed. Detour in place.

West Bay

Ramp to open Saturday

East Greenwich/North Kingstown: Route 4 southbound Exit 7A to Frenchtown Road (Route 403) is scheduled to open Saturday.

South County

Ramp to open Saturday

North Kingstown/East Greenwich: Route 403 westbound ramp to Route 4 southbound is scheduled to open Saturday.

Continuing restriction

East Greenwich/North Kingstown: Route 4 southbound traffic to Frenchtown Road use Exit 6 (Route 2/South County Trail). Exit 7B closed for construction.

Northern RI and Blackstone Valley

Continuing restrictions

Lincoln: Wilbur Avenue, one lane of alternating traffic on the bridge over Route 146 due to damaged bridge beams.

North Smithfield: School Street bridge over Route 146 closed to traffic, with a detour in place.

North Smithfield: Route 146 southbound under Great Road, one lane closed for bridge rehabilitation.

East Bay

Weekday restriction

Tiverton: Route 24 northbound and southbound at Exit 5 (Main Road), lane closed in each direction Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Continuing restriction

Portsmouth-Tiverton: Sakonnet Bridge (Route 24) posted for use by vehicles under 18 tons. Heavier vehicles must use alternate routes. The bridge is safe for passenger vehicles.
