Massa, Ferraris lead first Belgian GP practice

SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium (AP) — Felipe Massa edged Ferrari teammate Kimi Raikkonen to set the fastest time in yesterday’s first practice session for the Belgian Grand Prix.
The two drivers stayed in front of McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton, the leader in the world standings, and his teammate Heikki Kovalainen.
In cold and damp conditions with a speck of rain, Massa set a time of 1 minute, 47.284 seconds at the 4.352-mile Spa-Francorchamps circuit, beating Raikkonen, the defending world champion, by 0.339 seconds.
Hamilton had a time of 1:47.878, for an edge of 0.054 over Finland’s Kovalainen.
