Bike to Work Day; Smithfield car show

• Bike to Work Day will be held May 16. Bicyclists will convene at the Bank of America City Center skating rink entrance at 7 a.m. Breakfast and refreshments will be served to cyclists from 7 to 10. Beginning at 3 p.m., there will be bicycle-related vendors providing safety tips and demonstrations, local environmental organizations, information about upcoming bicycle signage and lane striping, Rack n’ Ride demonstrations by RIPTA, refreshments, a bike raffle and entertainment.
• Smithfield High School Antique and Kustom Car Show will be held June 1 from 9 to 11 a.m. The morning will include student project displays, raffles, food and beverages and trophies. Music will be provided by the Ingredients and DUJ Dr. Dom will be there. The cost is $15.
• This summer Midas will educate consumers about the importance of routine auto maintenance with a few easy car care tips designed to maintain better gas mileage, save money on fuel and help make your car last longer.
