Hundreds of brilliant custom cars and hot rods, race cars and trucks are on display at the 35th Annual Town Fair Tire World of Wheels Show in Boston this weekend.

“We got at least 280 cars in competition with more cars in the building,” said show chairman Dick Royer.

He said the overall number of vehicles was up from last year. “As far as car owners are concerned, the economy has not affected my show,” he said. “The business renters may be off a little but the memorabilia room is sold out.”

In addition to the exhibits and a wide selection of memorabilia, the show offers a number of attractions including the Atomic Punk bubbletop car from the cover of Rod and Custom and “Hemi Nation” presented by Super Rod Magazine.

Royer cited a number of street rods that will be displayed on big stands near the entrance, and singled out a 1963 Corvette Sting Ray Coupe as well as a number of Willys coupes from as far away as New York and Pennsylvania, and Camaro and Impala convertibles.

In addition, guest appearances will be made from 1 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today by: Jason Earles “Jackson” from TV’s Hannah Montana; Wolf and Venom from TV’s American Gladiators; and famed custom-car designer Chip Foose from TV’s Overhaulin’.

Candy Clark from the film American Graffiti will also be on hand today from 1 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m., and 1 to 4 p.m. tomorrow.

Red Sox pitcher Justin Masterson will be available tomorrow from 1 to 3 p.m. And Casey Stroh, “Martha Cox” from Disney’s High School Musical 3, will be attending tomorrow from noon to 4 p.m.

The show will also feature a unicycle show today at noon, 2:30, 4:30 and 7 p.m.; and tomorrow at noon, 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. .

And it will also include East Coast championship wrestling, with live matches today at noon, 4 and 7 p.m.; and tomorrow at noon and 3 p.m. .

The show, which opened yesterday evening and runs through tomorrow evening, is at the Bayside Exposition Center, 200 Mount Vernon St., just off Route 93 south of Boston.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow. Admission is $15, with children 6-to-12 admitted for $5, and children 5 and under free.
